Compassionate Mental Health Care That Starts with Listening
Life feels different when anxiety or depression take hold. Whether you’re facing constant worry, lingering sadness, or just not feeling like yourself, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to go through it without help. At FirstChoice Clinic & Urgent Care, we offer confidential, walk-in mental health support for those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, or related disorders.
Our clinic in Canoga Park serves individuals and families throughout Reseda, Woodland Hills, West Hills, Winnetka, and other nearby communities with accessible, respectful care.
Understanding What You’re Feeling
Mental health conditions look different for everyone. Some people feel anxious all the time — physically restless, overwhelmed, or on edge. Others feel emotionally flat, disconnected, or stuck in a fog. Sometimes it’s both. Sometimes it shows up in ways you don’t expect, like physical pain, insomnia, or changes in appetite.
At FirstChoice, we take your concerns seriously, whether your symptoms are new, chronic, or somewhere in between. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to ask for help — just the courage to take that first step.
What We Treat
We work with patients struggling with a variety of emotional and psychological challenges, including:
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- Panic attacks and social anxiety
- Mild to moderate depression
- Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
- Stress-related symptoms
- Sleep issues related to anxiety or mood changes
- Adjustment disorders due to life transitions or trauma
- Emotional burnout from work, caregiving, or chronic illness
Our licensed providers are trained to assess, diagnose, and begin treatment in a safe, nonjudgmental space — with respect for your time, privacy, and personal journey.
How Treatment Works
During your visit, we’ll start with a one-on-one conversation to understand what you’ve been feeling and how it’s affecting your day-to-day life. We may use screening tools to better assess the severity of your symptoms and guide treatment recommendations.
Depending on your needs, our support may include:
- Psychiatric evaluation to determine diagnosis or contributing factors
- Short-term medication options to help stabilize mood or reduce anxiety
- Mental health counseling referrals for ongoing therapy
- Lifestyle coaching, including support for sleep, nutrition, and stress management
- Follow-up planning to check in on progress and adjust treatment if needed
Our goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and back in control — whether that means long-term care or short-term guidance.
Insurance & Access
Mental health support should be available to everyone. We accept:
- Medi-Cal
- Medicare
- PPO plans
- Affordable self-pay options for uninsured patients
There’s no need for a referral or prior diagnosis. Just walk in, or call ahead if you’d like to ask questions first.
